Workshop

Novel scenarios for m-learning (by Dr. Anxo Cereijo Roibás)

Date: 2 June 2004

Hours: 0900-1300

Cost: €150

Abstract
The workshop intends to explore and analyse the design of scenarios for
e-learning in ubiquitous communication. In particular it will be focused in
the incoming 3G mobile communication technologies. Participants will be
required to design different scenarios of use of m-learning service during a
hypothetical user's journey (mainly when he is 'on the move' - e.g. in a
train, using a pocket PC or a mobile phone), etc. They will be also asked to
have special regard with the problematics and usability aspects of
designing interfaces for learning purposes in wireless devices.

9:00-9:30 Introductions and scene setting

9:30-10:30 The current state of 3G multi-access & multi-channel scenarios

10:30-10:45 -- Break --

10:45-11:00 The procedure to be followed will be described. Groups
organisation and start group working.

11:00-12:00 Summary of the topics and verification of the main issues in
m-learning (ethics, usability.)

12:00-1:00 Final review
